The Macleod family, who originally hail from the North of Scotland, have extensive knowledge of living in East Malaysia as expatriates, as Donald is a Chartered Civil Engineer who has specialised in maritime development in the surrounding region. Nevis Park Sdn Bhd is also member of MICCI, the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce & Industry, where Donald has been a committee member for the past few years. He has also been a member of the Kota Kinabalu Rotary Club, acting as the Director of International Services and an advisor to SEPA, the Sabah Environmental Protection Society, as well as a long time member of the Sabah Amateur Radio Society (with callsign 9M6AE)
